Our approach

How you handle disagreement is how you lead.

Nearly everything that slows a project down starts as a disagreement someone handled badly — pushed too hard, avoided, or smoothed over to keep the peace. The diagnostic looks at what you do in those moments, because it's the clearest signal of how you lead and the easiest thing to get better at.

Three things we believe.

01

Conflict is where leadership shows

Anyone can lead a team that agrees with them. What separates leaders is what they do when people don't.

02

Everyone has a default

Under pressure you fall back on the same move every time — pushing, conceding, splitting the difference, or stepping away. Most people have never been told which one is theirs.

03

A default can be widened

You don't need a personality transplant. You need two or three more responses available to you, practised until they're as automatic as the one you already have.

What taking it is like.

Andrew's own assessment, developed over thirty years of watching leaders in real situations. It takes about fifteen minutes, there are no right answers, and nothing about it is designed to catch you out.

01

Rate how you behave

A series of short statements about what you do when people don't agree with you. You rate how true each one is of you.

02

Answer honestly, not well

There's no profile that scores highest. The results are only useful if they describe how you actually behave rather than how you'd like to.

03

Get sorted straight away

Your answers place you on a pathway as soon as you finish — no waiting on a scoring appointment or a debrief in someone's diary.

04

Start on what you need

Your pathway opens with the lessons, scenarios and assignments aimed at your weak spot, in plain English and in the order that makes sense for you.

The five ways people handle it.

Your answers show how much you lean on each of these. Everyone uses all five — the question is whether you reach for the right one at the right moment, or default to the same one every time.

Working it through You dig into what everyone actually needs and look for the answer that holds up for all of them. Costs you: time you may not have, and a reputation for long meetings.
Taking charge You know what needs doing, you say so, and you argue your case. Costs you: people stop bringing you problems, and you find out late.
Splitting the difference You negotiate, give a little, and get the thing moving again. Costs you: a fix nobody owns, back on your desk within a month.
Keeping the peace You'd rather concede than have the argument, and you let it go. Costs you: your own position, quietly, again and again.
Stepping away You say little, get out of the conversation, and hope it settles itself. Costs you: the problem grows while nobody's looking at it.

There's no best style and no score to beat. What matters is the gap between the one you default to and the one the situation in front of you actually needed.

Then your course is built from it.

Two people can score the same overall and need completely different work. That's why there's no standard programme — your results decide what you practise.

Strong on taking charge

Learning to hear the objection

Your pathway works on drawing disagreement out early — scenarios where the cost of not hearing it plays out, and assignments that put you back in the room.

Strong on keeping the peace

Learning to hold a position

Lessons and scenarios on stating a requirement and staying with it, including the conversations you'd normally smooth over.

Strong on stepping away

Learning to open the conversation

Practice at raising the thing you'd rather not raise, while it's still a discussion and not a delay.

Where it comes from.

The model is Andrew's own, developed through his MSc research and thirty years on live projects. It maps what each leadership style costs you on a tight schedule — and, crucially, which lessons, scenarios and assignments actually shift it.

That mapping is what lets the platform build your pathway the moment you finish. You're reassessed at the end of it, so the change is something you can show rather than something you hope happened.
